"This must be the location of the hippie commune," Carson says, showing the map to the others. "At least now we know where we're going. Let's get outta here."

Carson examines the scattered papers near the opening.

Percy turns to the coach driver. "Perhaps we could make a detour on the way to the village?"

Vincent nods and follows the capitaine, producing a flame from his hand for light without need of a lantern.

"We got along well with Reverend Whatshisname when we met him," Percy says. "I'm sure we'd all be welcome."

Carson follows the retreat, pushing the other cop along.

"I will create an Obscuring Mist to surround us and conceal our approach," Vincent says, and murmurs an incantation.

Carson shakes the other policeman. "Give me back my roscoe and go get reinforcements. Move it, buddy!"

Supposing the child is having another nightmare Percy moves to the doorway of the schoolroom and looks out into the corridor but remains watchful instead of hurrying away.

Percy was dreaming and is confused when he awakes, unsure of where he is. His dream was of an indistinct but human shape, burning. Percy could hear screams, but was unable to move. He awakes to see Isolde skulking around the room. Percy leaps to his feet. "Who? What? Where? Ah, Miss Beauchant!...

Carson nods in reply to Zara and follows the others up the stairs.

Meanwhile, Vincent checks the lunar calendar - is the next moonless night, when those reported strange lights may be observed, at hand?

"There's an elevator," Carson points out. "That might be quicker."
