Conan Doyle vs. Cthulhu?

This is an idea I half-developed years ago for tabletop, but gave up on because my circumstances changed and it was no longer convenient for me to play in that format. So it was never finished, but might be worth reviving if there would be a home for it here. I'm just checking whether there are enou...

Re: Leagues of Adventure

Er... Sorry about this, but I've made a very silly mistake. Since most of the games on this site are CoC and they're grouped by era, I assumed that "Gaslight" was short for "Cthulhu By Gaslight". I thought the opening synopsis was a wee bit light-hearted, but hey, there were rich...

Re: Leagues of Adventure

Edit - inexplicable confusion between "Professor" and "Explorer"! I of course meant the latter. So can I be the Explorer? As a male player, I'd find it unnecessarily distracting and a bit odd to have to rôle-play being a woman for no reason except that I'm stuck with a pre-genera...

Re: Can Such Things Be?

Dear old Fantômas, the most unjustly neglected literary character ever! Apparently there were copyright problems with the author's heirs holding out for decades for too much money, until they ended up with none because everybody had forgotten about the fellow. In the context of this website, he's pr...

Re: Can Such Things Be?

Actually he's Fantômas, the "hero" of a French supervillain movie made in 1913. I thought that would be appropriate.

Player Looking For Game - CoC

Like it says at the top: newbie seeks game of CoC. I've played before on tabletop, and I know the game well. I also know Lovecraft's fiction very well indeed, so I'm a bit of a purist - ideally I'd like a game from round about the classic era, or a bit before or after. Let's say 1860-1960 - nothing ...

Can Such Things Be?

Greetings! As a long-ago tabletop CoC player, I felt a twinge of nostalgia. Not being in a position to join a live game, I thought I'd try PbP. I nearly gave up, since my first few attempts were on sites devoted to PbP games of all kinds, mostly D&D, and about 99.9% things that weren't CoC, so t...
