Charles takes a deep breath. "This is going to end badly," he mutters, and reaches out to get the gem.

Charles dashes out of the car. "Is it dead? Are we sure? Be careful!" he babbles, his voice a mixture of anxiety and relief.

Charles stays in the car, revving the engine, waiting for a clear shot (as it were) at Corbitt.

Charles holds hsi position, waiting for a chance to hit at Corbitt without dealing Harrison the coup de grace.

Charles begins turning the car around.

Charles does his best to get stealthily and quickly in a police car, turn on the ignition, and head for Corbitt.

Charles looks at the cars near him to any where the key might be in the ignition.

Charles begins moving back closer to the fray.

Charles looks around to see if there is anything burning, anything that might be used as a torch. He figures that it's as likely to be vulnerable to fire as to anything else.

Seeing Corbitt beginning to come towards him, Charles gives up hope for the gun and instead simply tries to get away as fast as possible from the monster.

Charles goes for the gun, silently praying Corbitt does not see him.

Charles makes his way back, half-running, half-walking, in a daze, thinking he should do something but terrified to do it.
