John nods and salutes Steadman.
"I understand, sir. We'd best be going then..."

He turns to leave, but then stops, looking back at Steadman.

"That being said, are there places we definitely shouldn't go?"

John nods in agreement, grateful for Elizabeth's save.

"If we didn't mean well, we wouldn't have come here, would we, sir?"

"No, I do mean yesterday, sir. She had a date with you yesterday, didn't she?"

John clears his throat. "I understand your discretion, sir, and I respect it, that's why we came to you in person. But the thing is, witnesses have it that you were with her yesterday. If you can tell us anything, anything at all that could be useful, we might get to the bottom of what happened...

John salutes the Major and smiles warmly.
