Thanks, chaps. I’m running the same campaign around the table so now I know all the mysteries. Makes it a bit tricky to play a character.

“It’s probably nothing.” Clarence remarks to Archie. “But I’d appreciate a check up.” He frowns as the old man opens the door and then tries to look amenable.

“It’s not a pirate ship…. It’s that ride that looks like a giant mechanical spider - the Giggler, I think…. We gotta get outter here fast!” Louis gasps.

“And we can’t go in the water, there are things in there.”

“Golly, What are they thinking!” Martin exclaims to Katie. “A woman is just as good as a chap in most situations. And you’re certainly better than most of these decrepit ex- war birds in the queue. Are you going to stick around? Maybe they’ll all die of old age overnight.” He smiles gallantly.

Clarence coughs, trying to stifle it. “Damn damp air.” He mutters.

Louis follows the others.
“What if we tried burning the roller coaster down?” He says, half to himself.

Louis sticks close to Darren. He nods to Dirk, “Who is he?”

“He’s probably just saying that to impress the sponsors.” Martin replies. “But there wasn’t even a short list or anything?” He looks concerned.

Somewhat bored, Jan flicks her fingers along the shelves looking for natural history books or books on strange beasts.

“It may not be safe for us all to return to the hotel to collect Maria. Perhaps some of us should continue to the station with Giorgio whilst the others go via the hotel.” Clarence suggests.

“Agreed, definitely not my idea of messing about in boats.” Clarence passes the painter to one of the activists and then climbs out himself.
“At least these chaps all escaped. It would have a slaughter otherwise.”

Louis nods and, looking at his compass, starts leading the way. “South east?”

“Hold steady, old chap.” Clarence pulls away as smoothly as he can so not to wobble Archie’s aim.

“Ur, Guys…” Louis climbs to his feet. “Please don’t argue. We need to stick together if we want to get out of here.”
He uncaps the end of his knife and looks at the tiny button compass in the hilt.
“North is that way.”

Clarence is one of the first out. Not having a gun, he dashes to the other boat, gets the oars ready and waits to slip the mooring line once the boat is full.
“Almost as hectic as Henley. Just missing the boaters and parasols.” He thinks.

Martin eyes up the competition whilst they wait.
“I don’t know that I want to trust my life to these rabble.
Do you think we get the chance to back out once we meet the other chosen candidates?”
