Re: IC: CH2 - LONDON - Back at the Ritz

Johnny leans back "well the lady was very fond of Jackson and his death was quite a shock. With an eye toward wrapping things up, and to be frank satisfy some curiosity we came to London. You should recall that the strain had taken quite a toll on his mind and his interests has always been of t...

Re: (IC#01) An Ordinary Day

"you're too generous!" but Wellington accepts the money quickly. "He migh; peculiar sort. Used to be a doctor or something. It's a hobby he says. He's dressed all right; seen better days but then haven't we all?" Wellington chuckles warmly and heads back out to his cart. "he...

Re: (IC#01) An Ordinary Day

sorry about formatting posting from mobile device If you say so Mr. Grant. Wellington beams and deposits his finds on the counter. There are several more books by Dickins, several books in French with particularly nice paper but particularly rotten bindings (looks like they were left in the water, ...

Re: IC: CH2 - LONDON - Back at the Ritz

sorry about formatting posting from mobile device "it's good of you to personally assure the young lady's safety. I'm afraid this is all quite beyond me." "yes and yes. Although, to be honest the police in new York really grappled with the scope of the thing. I was not present during...

Re: (Prequel Combat Thread) An Unfortunate Altercation

Dowd turns around. He eyes are dilated but he is clearly focused on the young man. His face has a truly baleful cast. He mutters to himself as Grant applies pressure to his back. In fact it seems that he's not as seriously hurt as you had first worried. The blood flow seems to be quite minimal. It ...

Re: (IC#01) An Ordinary Day

Wellington comes in a few minutes after the 1st man. He smells better than usual. His eyes are bright and wide, and he smiles a gap toothed smile as he makes his way to Grant . Found some books. Good ones. I like this one especially. He holds up a battered leatherbound book. You can barely make out...

Re: (IC#01) An Ordinary Day

The man nods briskly and makes his way to Fullers table and Jory , where he sits stiffly and they have a private conversation. Attempting to overhear,It sounds like they're talking about the War. Phrases like "The Hun... Dependable... What he's up to..." drift over. The other man, clearly m...

Re: IC: CH2 - LONDON - Back at the Ritz

OOC,Appreciate the note passing, I had very much meant to make that clearer. You are quite right. It was simply speculation. I am certain you would like to interview the young lady who received the note. Johnny leans forward. To be honest, I think Miss Downing needs to rest before making any travel...

Re: OOC: Chapter 2 - LONDON, Starts 28th Jan 1925

Apologies for the slowness. Work has been absurd recently. It should taper off by the end of the month. Will try to avoid bottlenecking. I have to confesss that I spend a couple of minutes a few weeks back and I can't, for the life of me, remember what the heck we did today. Morning <blank> Afternoo...

Re: IC: CH2 - LONDON - Back at the Ritz

We have the note. The Chinese man nods at the request for fingerprints. Miss Downing touched it too I am afraid. I don't have her name but she was on duty this evening and I can certainly describe her. We were speaking earlier but, from his description the man could have been one Gavigan who runs t...

Re: (GMB) OOC

I'm posting more slowly than normal. There have been some unusual developments at work and it's consuming a lot of time. It'll be temporary, things will lighten up and I will be back to full speed near the end of the year.

Re: (IC#01) An Ordinary Day

A distinguished looking man with a hint of grey about his temples makes his way into the bookshop.

He strides briskly up to the counter, nods once and says "Penhalligon?".

Re: (Prequel Combat Thread) An Unfortunate Altercation

Grant's blow sends the young man sprawling back toward Jory arms akimbo. Jory deftly snags the young man's arms pinning them behind him. "Let go!," the young man is not strong and struggles impotently, steak knife still clutched in his hand.

(IC#01) An Ordinary Day

Grant's Military Bookshop Mid-Morning - Saturday 2nd September, 1933 http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lxgt4yajbX1qbyk5qo1_500.jpg It's shaping up to be a warm fall day after rain this evening. No customers have come into the shop yet today; but the amenable weather has already brought out the foot...

Dice rolling is invisible castle. I have no interest in rolling for people, I think IC keeps everything simple and above board. For a role to be "legitimate" please post with the following format [GMB]<char name> (i.e. [GMB]Jory) Combat started in prequel thread. It brings up an interestin...

Re: (Prequel Combat Thread) An Unfortunate Altercation

The young man 's face twists up for a minute, then he resolutely puts down the book, reaches in his pocket and pulls out a long steak knife. He slowly and deliberately approaches Dowd . Dowd is turned mostly away from the man, and does not notice his approach. The young man 's face is resolute as he...

Re: IC: CH2 - LONDON - Back at the Ritz

Johnny nods. I think the whole thing was a tremendous shock to everyone. I can understand why someone would not like to stay in the building.
