Re: IC: Chapter 6 - Trieste

With the help of Luigi's translations, Howard is given directions to a nearby hospital which, according to the clerk, enjoys a good reputation. "Do protect yourself against the bora when you go out sir, I hope you brought warm clothes! It's very cold and windy!" The clerk hands you leaflet...

Re: IC: Chapter 6 - Trieste

You retire to your rooms and fall fast asleep... That night, you all dream of a whitish human form which scuttle louse-like, spider-like, crab-like over the exteriors of the hurtling cars of the Orient Express. It is gazing in through curtain slits with dark-circled, hungry eyes. Thgouh the thing's ...

Re: IC: Chapter 6 - Trieste

"This season in general. Remember to wear warm clothes!" the waiter replies. "If you'll forgive the informality, during days like these, I am glad that I work indoors." He hands you a brochure about museums in the city. There are many, about all kinds of subjects. You have no ide...

Re: IC: Chapter 6 - Trieste

Howard books a room with Luigi, while Felicity and John book separate rooms. "The bora? Yes, at this time of the year it is always like this. But these days it is particularly violent." the clerk answers. You are given a light but excellent supper in the hotel's luxurious dining room. Ther...

Re: IC: Chapter 6 - Trieste

After waiting in the cold for several minutes, you manage to hail a cab and instruct the driver to take you to the Savoia Excelsior Palace. The ride from the rail station to the center of town is a short one. Excelsior Palace 10:00pm -Monday January 22nd, 1923 Alighting at your hotel, the wind shrie...

Re: IC: Chapter 6 - Trieste

Spoiler:
Thanks for correcting me about the thread title. I'm not sure about the photo... It is showing here. Can anyone else see it? I make a difference between First Aid for emergency procedures, and Medicine in proper conditions (with a real bed and proper rest). Medicine can be attempted later.

Re: IC: Chapter 6 - Venice

Now that the wounds have been (unsuccesfully) treated, it is not possible to treat them again.

You have not chosen a hotel.

IC: Chapter 6 - Trieste

Trieste, Italy 9:24pm -Monday January 22nd, 1923 The journey was placid enough that you each gain +1 San . As you step through the open door of the train and emerge into the vault of the station, the first thing you are aware of is the wind. It howls about the covered platform like an angry beast, ...

Re: IC: Oya and Felicity (CH5)

Howard goes to his berth with Felicity, and he lays down as she starts treating his wounds... Unfortunately, the awkwardness between them and the movement of the train must have made it difficult for her to concentrate, as after the treatment Howard is still very much in pain. Two failed First Aid r...

Re: IC: Oya and Felicity (CH5)

Finally, after waiting for what seemed like an eternity, the luggage is booked and locked in, and you are invited to board the Orient Express. The cold outside is pretty mean, so you are relieved to be able to go inside. There aren't too many passengers tonight, and you can share your berths with wh...

As John heads for the toilet, Howard spots him discreetly opening one of his bags as they are taken to the fourgon!
Spoiler:
Failed Sneak roll
John notices that the bag contains featureless statuary pieces made of a very unusual material that he cannot identify.

Re: OOC talk : Horror on the Orient Express

The fourgon is guarded 24/7 by the staff of the Orient Express and no one is permitted inside during the journey (not even to take their own bags). John presumably already knows this. If he wants to have a peek inside, his best bet is to give it a try before the bags are taken in. In that case, be a...

Re: OOC talk : Horror on the Orient Express

That seems like a good option, it would establish a common acquaintance and a sense of trust among the characters. Professor Smith knows a lot of people, and through the newspapers Felicity is probably aware of his disappearance in the fire that destroyed his house.
